MEDIA CAMPAIGN: REALISTIC HEALTH GOALS

Do Americans still make New Year’s resolutions? What goals are they aiming for in 2024? And what do they do to make them stick? These were just a few of the questions we set out to answer for a data-driven media campaign on behalf of The Vitamin Shoppe and Ancient Nutrition.

Our online poll of 2,000 U.S. adults revealed that three-quarters set at least one resolution each new year, and another 12% set resolutions, but not necessarily every year. Of those respondents, an astounding 83% claim to have success with their resolutions over the years.

The results showed that while Americans prefer to make long-term goals (42%) rather than short-term ones (27%), they would rather kick off their goals gradually than jump in headfirst. And they believe New Year’s goals should be attained by summer or take an average of about five months.

So, what are the easiest goals to achieve? According to our research, practicing better hygiene, drinking more water, taking daily vitamins and supplements, and working on flexibility, such as simply being able to touch your toes.
